Creating a spouse connection
Follow these steps to create a spouse connection between two contact records.
create the connection
Go to one of the Contact records, it doesn’t matter which. Click on the Family Connections tab, and in the Family Connections subgrid, click +New Connection.
Fill in the Name of the spouse (in this case, Aaron's spouse, Rosa) and choose Spouse/Partner as the Role. You only need to fill in the top "As this role" field. Fill in a start date or end date if necessary, i.e. in the case of a marriage/divorce/death.
If you go to Rosa's Contact record, you will automatically see the connection. That’s because this connection is reciprocal.
You can create a View of all connections under the Connections entity. Sort the Role column to what you'd like to look up, like only Spouse/Partner connections, for example.
Here you can see Rosa and Aaron in the view.
address change
If a couple moves, and you change the address on one of the contact records, the system will ask if you want to update the address of the spouse contact. In the example above, if you changed Aaron’s address, it would ask you if you wanted to update Rose’s address, too.
