Reminder - only GOfund users who have been assigned permission will be able to make grant recommendations through GOfund. This permission is assigned within the user's Fund Connection. For more information on setting up Fund Connections and the different permissions that can be assigned, please see the Getting Started Section - GOfund Admin Guide.

Below are the different scenarios covering what can be created in akoyaGO when a GOfund User makes a recommendation, and what settings must be enabled for each scenario to take place. 

  Scenario 1 - GOfund User Recommends Grant to an Organization

What is Needed for this to Take Place?

GOfund User must have Grant Submission Access = YES set on the connection for this fund.
 

What does this look like to the GOfund User?

The user will choose to Recommend a Grant to an Organization:

and will recommend that a grant be made to an Organization:

What is created in akoyaGO? 

• Pending Request - waiting for approval or denial in akoyaGO.
  • Request Source will be set to GOfund. 
  • Grant Recommender will be set to the GOfund User who recommended this grant.
  • The fund will be set on the Request. This is particularly important because the Recommended Amount will be deducted from the GOfund Spendable Value if the Request is Pending or Approved.
  • You will see other fields that were set on the Request based on information the GOfund User entered, such as the Recommended Amount, Applicant, Anonymous, and Recommended Payment Date.

How to access akoyaGO? 

• To find the Pending Requests, navigate to the REQUESTS table. You can utilize your own views, or there are several out-of-the-box System Views that can help you process these Requests as well:
  • Pending Recommended Requests System View (access through Requests) shows all Pending Requests where the Grant Recommender contains data
    • Note: if you have manually entered Requests and listed a Grant Recommender, they will be included in this view! Remember, the Request Source field can be used to differentiate those created through GOfund vs by a CRM User.
  • Recent GOfund Grant Recommendations System View (access through GOfund System Dashboard, or through Requests) shows all Requests created in the Last 30 Days where Request Source = GOfund
    • Note: this is only showing you RECENT Grant Recommendations. If you have pending Requests created > 30 days ago, they will not be included in this view. 
  • All GOfund Requests System View 
    • Note this shows ALL GOfund Requests (not just those that are pending). You can use this to analyze all Requests created through GOfund.

  Scenario 2 - GOfund User Recommends Grant to Established Fund

What is Needed for this to Take Place?

• GOfund User must have Grant Submission Access = YES set on the connection for this fund.
• Enable Interfund Recommendations must be set to YES within GOfund Settings to enable at a site-wide level.

What does this look like to the GOfund User?

The user will choose to Recommend a Grant to an Established Fund:

and will recommend that a grant be made to another established fund, instead of an organization:

What is created in akoyaGO? 

• Pending Interfund - waiting for processing akoyaGO to create child records.
  • Interfund Grants Source will be set to GOfund.  
  • Grant Recommender will be set to the GOfund User who recommended this grant.
  • Fund will be set on the Request when the Interfund is processed. This is particularly important because the Recommended Amount will be deducted from the GOfund Spendable Value if the Request is Pending or Approved.
  • You will see other fields that set on the Interfund (and Request once the Interfund is processed) based on information the GOfund User entered.

How to access akoyaGO? 

• To find the Pending Interfunds, navigate to the Interfund Grants table. You can utilize your own views, or there are several out-of-the-box System Views that can help you process these Interfunds as well:
  • GOfund Pending Requests (Interfunds) System View (access through Interfunds) shows all Interfunds that have not yet been processed, where Grant Recommender contains data and Interfund Grants Source is GOfund or Blank.
  • Recent GOfund Interfund Recommendations System View (access through GOfund System Dashboard, or through Interfund Grants) shows all Interfunds created in the Last 30 Days where Interfund Grants Source = GOfund .
    • Note this is only showing you RECENT Interfund Recommendations. If you have pending Interfunds created > 30 days ago, they will not be included in this view.

  Scenario 3 - GOfund User Recommends Grant on a Standing/Recurring Basis

What is Needed for this to Take Place?

• GOfund User must have Grant Submission Access = YES set on the connection for this fund
• Enable Timing and Enable Recurring must be set to YES within GOfund Settings to enable at a site-wide level
• IMPORTANT: A custom "Recommend a Grant" form cannot be utilized at this time for a GOfund user to recommend a grant on a recurring basis

What does this look like to the GOfund User?

If the GOfund User chooses to issue this grant on a standing/recurring basis, they will set a desired frequency, Start Date, and End Date. This information will be populated on the Scheduled Distribution in akoyaGO.

What is created in akoyaGO? 

• Pending Request - waiting for approval or denial in akoyaGO (see information in Scenario 1)
• AND Scheduled Distribution for future processing of a recurring grant 

How to Access in akoyaGO? 

• To find the Scheduled Distributions, navigate to the Scheduled Distributions table. You can utilize your own views, or this out-of-the-box System Views can help you process the Scheduled Distributions as well:
  • Recent GOfund Recurring Grant Recommendations System View (access through GOfund System Dashboard or Scheduled Distributions) shows all Scheduled Distributions created in the last 30 days where the Scheduled Distribution Source is GOfund.
