Redo Bank Deposit

Prerequisites

  1. Finance user

Business Central is equipped with a tool that makes it easy to relocate the undeposited funds from a bank deposit that had been previously reversed.

Things to know:

This feature will allow you to repost the original deposit. This tool can only be used for bank deposits that had been previously reversed (Undo Deposit). For more information on bank deposits and bank deposit reversals, see the Bank Deposits knowledge article or the Gift Payment voids, adjustments, and refunds article.

Step 1: New Bank Deposit

The Redo Deposit tool will be accessed from a new Bank Deposit. From the home page, click +Deposits and start a new deposit.

Step 2: Redo Deposit

In the new deposit form, choose Redo Deposit from the Bank Deposit menu item.

This will pull up a list of posted bank deposits. Select the deposit you want to redo. Make sure the Reversed checkmark is checked. This feature will not work if the original deposit is not reversed.

Click on the line to select, then click OK.

The process will then filter G/L entries and locate the original G/L entries that were transferred to deposit and are currently in undeposited funds.

Important: the lines will not show as available if they were transferred in a different deposit.

Step 3: Post Deposit

Next, just post the deposit as you normally would.
