Business Central User Interface Changes
This document describes changes to the Business Central User Interface as of September 13, 2024. These changes do not affect functionality. They are to enhance the user experience and declutter screens.
Please note that no functionality has been removed from Business Central. Options that were removed from menus are still available in Business Central and can be accessed via the search function. You can even pin options you use frequently so they appear directly on your home screen. (Instructions on pinning items will be at the end of this document.)
Menu Changes
Finance Menu
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Finance menu:
Cash Management Menu
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Cash Management menu:
Revenues Menu
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Revenues menu:
Expenses Menu
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Expenses menu:
Approvals Menu
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Approvals menu:
Payee is Now Vendor
All instances of “Payee” have been removed and replaced with “Vendor”. Any area where you may have seen “Payee” will now read “Vendor”.
Vendor Card Changes
- The Prices & Discounts menu has been hidden. The Invoicing section, when collapsed* now looks like this:
Note: A collapsed section is a section on a form where ‘Show more’ is an option. Meaning, that not all fields are displayed; the section is not fully expanded.
Dashboard Redesign
Activities
Activities now include:
- Open Payables: Sum of vendor ledger “Invoices” where Open = Yes
- Open Receivables: Sum of Customer Ledger Entries where Open = Yes
- Undeposited Funds Total: Sum of lines in undeposited funds
- Tasks – beneath activities users will see the following:
- My User Tasks
- Email Activities
- Pending Approvals
Insights
- We have removed Net Asset Balance and replaced it with Favorite Accounts.
Changes to the Home Page Actions Menu
- This section describes changes to the Actions menu on your Business Central home page:
Reports
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Reports actions menu:

Setup
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the Setup actions menu:
akoyaGO
- As of 9/13/24, these are the options that are displayed in the akoyaGO actions menu:
Deposit Form Changes
- All of the options that were previously under the Prepare menu – Suggest Undeposited Funds, Transfer All Undeposited Funds, and Ignore Undeposited Funds – have been promoted to main form options:
- In Deposit lines, the columns were reordered, several extraneous columns were removed, and a column for Fund was added:
Payment Journal Form Changes
- Suggest Vendor Payments has been promoted to the main menu on the form:
- Sort Checks has been moved to the Check menu and the Check menu will be expanded on opening the form:
- Generate EFT has been moved to the Bank menu:
- Net Customer/Vendor Balances have been hidden from the Prepare menu.
- The journal line columns have been rearranged for clarity.
Bank Reconciliation Form
Bank reconciliation List
- The Change Statement No. action has been hidden from the menu.
Purchase Invoice Form Changes
- The fact box now shows Attachments, Links, and Notes:

How to Pin an Area to Your Business Central Home Page
1. Search for the page you wish to pin. When the list appears, note that you will see a bookmark icon on the far right when you hover your mouse over the option.
2. When you click the bookmark icon, it will fill in. A filled in bookmark indicates that that area has been pinned to your home page.
3. It will appear here on the home page.
