July 2024 User Group - Finance in Business Central: Changes to Fund Type, Class, and Endowment

This special session of User Group: Finance in Business Central is geared toward use case scenarios for the fields: Department, Fund Type, Fund Class, and Endowed status.

As part of the June 20, 2024 release, Department, Fund Type, Fund Class, and Endowed status are now locked upon being assigned to a fund. This was implemented in response to users noticing inconsistencies with historical financial reports. Reclassifying a fund in the current year will reclassify that fund for all-time causing financial reports from closed accounting periods to no longer match previously generated reports.

We will be releasing additional reporting functionality related to Fund Type, Fund Class, and Endowed later this year. The first pieces of this programming are scheduled to be released on August 1, 2024.
