standard (recurring) journal entries in business central
creating the standard (recurring) journal transaction
There are a couple of ways to create these types of entries. This method seems to be the easiest for clients to use.
- From the Business Central main dashboard, click on the Finance dropdown and select General Journals.
- Click on the DEFAULT Journal
- Create the entry you want to save as a Standard journal entry.
- Once a balanced entry has been created, click on the Action dropdown (you may have to first click on More Options in order to see the Actions dropdown).
- Next click on the Functions dropdown and select Save as Standard Journal.
- You will be prompted to give your standard journal a Code (limited number of characters) and Description. If you want the journal to ‘remember’ the dollar amounts, slide the Save Amount slide bar to the right. If you do not slide the bar, when you recall your journal entry, the amounts will be blank. All other information will be filled in.
- A message will pop up when the Standard General Journal has been successfully created.
- At this point you can go ahead and process the entry or delete the lines if you don’t need to process it right now.
