Revised 08/21/2026

Prerequisites

Net Asset Sweep is an optional function that automatically creates journal entries to move “accumulated earnings” into “spendable” net assets.

Enable Funds for Net Asset Sweep Field

While Net Asset Sweep is commonly used for non-endowed funds, participation is determined by the fund's Enable Net Asset Sweep field.

This field is found in the Net Asset Detail section of a Fund record:

When creating new funds, set the Enable Net Asset Sweep field appropriately, as it determines whether a fund is included in the Net Asset Sweep process.

Even if a fund has Enable Net Asset Sweep set to Yes, no sweep activity will occur unless the Net Asset Sweep feature is turned on and properly configured in Accounting Settings (steps in the following section)

Important: As of August 2026, Net Asset Sweep eligibility is no longer controlled by the Endowed field. The new Enable Net Asset Sweep field was introduced to manage participation independently of a fund's endowed status. This is especially useful for quasi-endowed funds that should participate in Net Asset Sweep while remaining marked as Endowed.

Configure/Enable Net Asset Sweep (Accounting Settings)

Net Asset Sweep will not run until it has been configured and enabled in Accounting Settings.  For more information on Accounting Settings, please see akoyaGO with Accounting - Accounting Settings
