  Launching form editor

This guide covers various Form Setting options that may be useful when updating a phase in GOapply (v2) Advanced Form Builder.

All the following scenarios can be completed through the GOmanager Form Editor Advanced Form Builder, which can be reached from the Form Editor tab of a Phase:

turn on/off numbers for each question

The following settings can be changed so that the phase does not show the numbers before each question (i.e., 1. Question, 2. Q , 3. Q, 4, etc..)
  • Open the Form Settings and scroll down through the Properties
  • Click the drop-down arrow next to the Question settings

retain data for questions that are not visible to applicants

If there are fields that you want to remain unseen by applicants, use the following step:

  • Click on the relevant question box, and scroll down through the Properties
  • Click the drop-down arrow next to General settings
  • Set the Show to Applicant toggle to NO under the General Properties. This will hide the question from the applicant.

To preserve the data within hidden questions, complete the following steps:

  • Click on Form Setting at the top of the page
  • Click on the drop-down arrow next to Data settings
  • Under the Clear invisible values field, select none
  • Un-check the box for Store ‘others’ values in separate field

restrict applicants from moving forward if *required questions are unanswered

To prevent applicants from moving to the next page of the phase when a required question has not been answered, use the following steps.

From the Form Setting properties:
  • Click the drop-down menu for Validation
  • Select onNextPage from the Check errors mode dropdown

restrict the applicant from moving forward until they enter an acceptable answer to a question

If questions must have a specific answer for the applicant to progress through the application (i.e. screening or eligibility questions), the following steps can be helpful in customizing the error message an applicant might receive.
