ADDING PERMISSIONS IN BUSINESS CENTRAL
Business Central has two levels of user access methods: Full Access and Read Only Access. akoyaGO users require one of these permissions in order to have any access to Business Central, otherwise their access will be limited to the akoyaGO CRM.
BUSINESS CENTRAL LICENSES
The allowable permissions per user is dependent on which Microsoft license(s) are assigned in the MS Admin Center. “Business Central Essentials,” “Business Central Premium,” and “Business Central External Accountant” are examples of Full Access users.“Business Central Team Members” or “Business Central Basic User” are examples of Read Only users.
Full Access Business Central Users have permission to do the following things in business central:
- Post deposits
- Print checks
- Post payments
- Fund fees
- Joint investment allocation
- Spendable allotment
- Bank reconciliations
- Journal entries
- Create payees
- Create and post purchase invoices
- Create and edit financial reports
- Edit Fund Statement layouts
Read only Business Central Users have permission to view the data in business central but do not have access to create, modify or post records. Viewing data in Business Central includes running financial reports and fund statements.
PERMISSION SETUP IN BUSINESS CENTRAL
Once a user has been assigned a Business Central license in the MS Admin Center, navigate to Business Central. Using the upper-right Search, type and then select “Users”
Select “Update users from Microsoft 365” from the Process tab. We recommend viewing changes before completing the update.
If the permission updates look correct, click the Finish button. (This can include more changes than initially anticipated, so review carefully.)
After updating and adding the user, navigate to their record
Depending on the MS License assigned, the permissions will automatically populate on the user’s record. A permission set for akoyaGO integration must be added.
On the next available blank line under User Permission Sets, click the 3 vertical dots, then select AKOYA USER from the list.
After assigning the AKOYA USER permission set, the Business Central User setup is complete.
